Collaborative Project

Anne Binder

Anne is a calligrapher, papermaker, and book artist. Her work has been
widely exhibited throughout the United States and Canada. Her works
are a part of both private and public collections.

Creating art and facilitating others to create art is a very important part of
Anne’s life. She believes art is the pathway to peace. She encourages
collaborations among artists’ groups fostering interdisciplinary
relationships. Her projects include a collaboration of fifty-five artists
offering their responses to the events of September 11. Project Hope is
a traveling exhibit that has toured throughout the United States and
Canada since November 2001.  

Anne teaches on a local, national, and international level. She
developed and taught accredited classes in the lettering and book arts
at Bethel College, Mishawaka, Indiana. She travels to calligraphic guilds
and artist societies to teach classes on letterforms, the book arts, and
painting techniques.

Anne’s home is affectionately known throughout the international
calligraphic community as “Calligraphy Central”. She lives in South
Bend, Indiana with her husband and two sons.
